Davidson Galleries accepts applications for internships on an ongoing basis. Interns at Davidson Galleries will obtain a wide range of experiences such as inventory management, art handling and installation, community outreach, research, social media marketing, photography, graphic design, and website maintenance. A minimum time commitment of three months is required.  See below for current internship offerrings. 

 

Gallery Assistant Intern

This internship may include projects such as:

  • Inventory management

  • Art handling and installation

  • Exhibition planning

  • Art identification research

  • Assisting with client relations

  • Generally assisting with the many aspects of running a fine art gallery

PR and Social Media Intern

This internship may include projects such as:

  • Daily content creation for social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest

  • Promoting Davidson Galleries events and exhibitions

  • Targeted marketing campaigns to engage local, national, and international art community

  • Promotion of inventory

  • Research and evaluation of industry‚Äôs best social media management systems

  • Additional gallery assistance such as inventory management, exhibition planning, photography

Graphic Design Intern: Web & Print

This internship may include projects such as:

  • Brand design and execution for marketing campaign for the Portland Fine Print Fair, including posters, mailers, brochures, Wordpress website design, marketing email design

  • Design comps for the new Davidson Galleries website

  • Regular Davidson Galleries print and digital marketing materials (marketing emails, exhibition postcards, fall 2020 catalogue, template creation, etc.)

  • Develop of Davidson Galleries brand guidelines

  • Additional gallery assistance such as inventory management, exhibition planning, photography

We are not currently able to offer compensation for internships, however many of our interns choose to receive academic credit for their experience. Davidson Galleries is committed to making internships valuable learning experiences that interns may leverage to obtain other professional positions.
