Recommended by Paige(Collections Manager): This piece captures my favorite elements of Mexican folk art: simple figures, absurdity, maximalism, and dark humor. Each figure is unique and I especially love the exploding skulls in the sky and the skeleton dog. While I am a devout admirer of all works by José Guadalupe Posada, this restrike from the Posada Art Foundation is an incredible piece that speaks to today's "end times" feelings.
