Elizabeth Donnally Davidson | Embodied

Elizabeth Donnally Davidson (American / Pacific Northwest, b. 1948) was born in 1948 in Newport, Rhode Island and lived in Cannes, France in the 1950s which influenced her textile work and Athens, Greece in the 1960s which influenced her ceramic work. She received a BA in Literature and an MA in Teaching from Reed College. She has been involved in the Pacific Northwest arts community in many capacities, including with the Portland Art Museum, Oregon Arts Commission, and as the Director of Blackfish Gallery and Poetry Editor for the Oregon Times in Portland. Davidson also exhibited artworks and antiquarian books as the owner of Donnally/Hayes Gallery. Davidson’s work is included in the permanent collection of the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art as a gift of Greg Kucera and Larry Yokum. Her work frequently addresses “the internal and external factors that shape our lives”.
