Founded in 1973, Davidson Galleries is widely regarded as one of the premiere venues for original prints in the Pacific Northwest. The gallery is divided into two departments: The Contemporary Print and Drawing Center, which offers full portfolios by forty print artists and representative works by more than sixty additional artists, and the Antique Print Department which maintains an extensive and diverse collection of original engravings, woodcuts, etchings, and lithographs dating from the 15th to 20th centuries. Davidson Galleries is located at 313 Occidental Ave. S, in the heart of Seattle's historic Pioneer Square art district.

In 2005, the Contemporary Painting and Sculpture Department at Davidson Galleries moved to a new, greatly expanded location and became Davidson Contemporary. Davidson Contemporary represents leading and emerging Northwest artists, as well as artists of national and international renown. The work exhibited ranges from figurative and narrative to the more abstract and surreal. Davidson Contemporary is located at 310 S Washington, in the recently developed East Edge section of Pioneer Square.

New exhibitions are mounted every month at both Davidson Galleries and Davidson Contemporary , with the openings corresponding to Seattle's "First Thursday" gallery walk.

Davidson Galleries is a charter member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association, a professional organization dedicated to maintaining ethical standards for fine print dealers. Both galleries are members of the Seattle Art Dealers Association.
