Description: 'The Carolina Parrot' from Audubon's huge four-volume set of hand-colored engravings, 'The Birds of America,' is one of only six pieces out of the 435 that features a species which is now extinct. The artist's paintings were engraved by William Lizars and Robert Havell. The set is generally regarded as the best bird book ever made.
