Size: 40 x 10 x 10 inches
Description: Each of the sculptures within the Float series will be temporarily sited in arctic waters after they have been exhibited. The sculptures will be tethered within different types of bodies of water in the arctic landscape: They will float under the surface of the open arctic sea (anchored to the sea floor), within the rapid currents of an arctic river (staked to the riverbed below freezing and thawing surface ice), on the surface of a sheltered arctic pond below the toe of a melting glacier, and resting within the shallows of glacial fluting, bogged tundra polygons, and within the protected waters of a collapsed pingo. They will remain for varied lengths of time, ranging from a single winter to a course of multiple years.
