Born and educated in British Columbia Robert Young's career over the past 50 years has established him as one of the preeminent Canadian artists working in printmaking, painting and drawing. Young served as professor for sixteen years in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia and taught and exhibited in London from 1966-1976. While there he he studied etching, engraving and drypoint at the City and Guilds of London School of Art. His imagery is often imbued with a strong sense of history as he draws inspiration from Western and Asian aesthetics, cubism, surrealism and jazz all while maintaining his strong personal style. Young will be on hand for the opening, please join us and help us welcome this important artist to Seattle.
