Text: "Through it all, Squirrel never asked him, 'why.' Mole loved him for that."
Staff Selections Exhibition: This piece is touching. The way that Mole holds his tail is so nervous and vulnerable, and the feeling of pure, selfless caretaking really moves me. I can't even quite tell exactly what Squirrel is doing for Mole, and it still makes me tear up every time. -Emma

Staff Selections Exhibition: Kobayashi’s easily recognizable flora and fauna and color palette’s repeated pastel rainbow rolls lull his audience into a peaceful acceptance of this scene. Kobayashi has hypnotically pulled the viewer into his fantasy world where baby chicks and sea turtles emerge in the same space; and land and seascapes gently exist in a circular flow in the same plane. All of the birds, fish, frogs, etc are all observing the cock and hen. Cycles of life are in perfect balance in this imaginary space, where even one wrong step from the cock at the edge of the cliff can throw it into disharmony. -Nikki

Staff Selections Exhibition: Tsuritani’s work reminds me to laugh and to not take everything so seriously. Life goals and walking along a journey of healing can feel impossible, overwhelming, and lonely. Learning to laugh during the process and feel the silliness is a welcome lightness. -Nikki
