Peter Klucik (Slovak, 1953) was born in Bratislava, Slovakia. He studied under Prof. Brunovsky in the Department of Graphik Art and Book Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava 1974-1980.

He is known for his metamorphic etchings of real and mythical animals that exhibit their own intricate relationship with reality and the irrational. He has illustrated more than 20 books, for which he has won many awards. Since 1991, he stopped illustrating to devote himself to painting and printmaking. His work is often visually dense, with creatures and textures consuming the space, leaving very little white area.
