Elisa Dore was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She received a B.A. in Language and World Business with a minor in Studio Art from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2018. She currently makes prints in Seattle.
Her work is shaped by her heritage, Puerto Rican and southern American. It references a middle ground, a duality of belonging to two different cultures yet not fully fitting into either one.
The natural world, travel, and illustration are strong themes in Dore's work. While she experiments with other mediums, printmaking is her primary focus because it demands attention to detail, which is intrinsic to how she creates art.
