In addition to her artistic pursuits, Carol Wax lectures frequently and currently teaches printmaking at Montclair State University. She is the author of The Mezzotint: History and Technique (Abrams, 1990, 1996), and her essays have appeared in international catalogues and journals. Honors received include the Louise Nevelson Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, two New York Foundation for the Arts Artist Fellows Grants, an Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant, and residencies at The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation and The MacDowell Colony.  Her mezzotint engravings are in numerous publications and collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and The National Museum of American Art.
