"Delta is an incredibly, vibrant, sumptuous print from Carol Summers. The red is even more bold and rich in person. This woodblock shows many of Carol's unique printing techniques. The waves at the top of the image have beautiful transitions, which were made by printing on both sides of the paper. Solvent is sprayed on the sheet after printing to cause the ink to become an integral part of the paper, like a dye, and giving them almost a watercolor effect and translucency. There is perfect contrast between the texture of these waves and the solid red and heavy blue, showing the mastery in his own style."
