Over his forty-five-year career Northwest artist Lockwood "Woody" Dennis created a large portfolio of over 500 woodcuts, drawing inspiration from diverse traditions such as German Expressionist prints, vintage cast-metal toys, Japanese woodblock prints, comic art, and WPA era industrial design. Davidson Galleries is honored to host a comprehensive retrospective of the artist's woodcuts which celebrates his life, his work, and his unique ability to remind us of the beauty and charm that can be found in transportation, in the Northwest landscape, and in regional urban icons. This much-anticipated exhibition promises to delight attendees and it will include woodcuts that even the most devoted collectors may have missed.
