Eunice Kim was born in 1971 in Seoul, Korea and moved to the US at the age of ten. She received a BA from California State University Long Beach and completed graduate studies at San Francisco State University as well as a fellowship at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley. Kim has devoted 20 years to sustainable printmaking through nontoxic, eco-friendly processes that balance the organic with rigid structure. She cites both her childhood in Korea and adulthood in the Pacific Northwest as influential in her artwork, particularly the ritualistic and meditative practices experienced with her grandmother when she was young and the natural texture of the Seattle area. Kim is known for her collagraphs and reclaimed wood monoprints that embrace imperfection, pattern, and balance. Kim is the recipient of many international awards and has work held in many private and public collections including the Library of Congress.

Please note: Due to the artist's unique printing process, her editioned works (Five Elements, Porous) vary subtly between impressions.  Please do not hesitate to contact us to see an image of exact impression we currently have.
