RALPH M. PEARSON (1883-1958)
Etchings

Born in Iowa and educated at the Chicago Art Institute, Ralph M. Pearson became an accomplished etcher at a time when the process was not widely taught in the United States.
After leaving the Midwest, he lived and worked in New York, California, and Taos, New Mexico. Pearson's masterful etchings, which range from industrial, urban views of Chicago to rugged Southwest panoramas provide a rich and distinctive window on the early 20th century American landscape.
