In her recent works on paper, Miki Lee continues her exploration of pure geometric abstraction through a confluence of line, color and form. The artist renders by hand each hard-edged zigzag band of color, never repeating a color. The work is imbued with formal strength, playfulness, and a contemplative quality. The images represent layers of emotions, feelings, and interpretaions affected by Miki Lee’s surroundings.
Miki Lee lives in New York City. She received her MFA from the The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. This is Miki Lee’s second solo exhibition at Davidson Galleries. Her work can be found in a number of public and private collections.
