In Lockwood Dennis’ series, The Roadbuilders and Co., the artist focuses on the machinery that builds the roads we travel. The sentimentality for recognized landmarks is directed toward the equipment that constructs the pathways to our cultural icons.

The Roadbuilders and Co. is a series comprised of both woodblock prints and oil paintings that portray everything from street graders, bulldozers, pavers and sweepers, to cranes and cement plants. With this brigade of heavy machinery, Dennis pays tribute to construction; and the memorable results.
