Cars

In 1985 and 1986, Lockwood Dennis carved the blocks for a series of woodcut prints of vintage cars. After quickly pulling the proofs, he moved on to create larger urban scenes. Although Dennis' later work incorporated architectural structures, it has always been the round, colorful, sprightly automobiles that personify his work. Burgeoning success kept him from ever printing these editions of vehicles - until now. After producing many views of Portland, Seattle, and even San Francisco, Dennis returned to his motorcars. Each image is printed off two or three separate blocks onto white Somerset paper.
